Does anyone know the location of Lowood (Low Wood or Low-Wood perhaps?) House? My Grandfather owned the property during the last War (Maj D E Dixon, Grenadier Guards) and my father was born there in 1943. I lived in Sunninghill for a year but was never able to locate it - can anyone help? Thanks

If my information is correct, some years ago the ladies of Windlesham made a quilt with oak leaves and acorn motifs. It was featured in a magazine at that time and I had the cutting. I should be grateful if one of its makers would send me a picture and the story behind the quilt. I am a quilter myself and thought the block was beautiful even from the tiny cutting I had.

Hi, i am trying to find out if anyone has researched men and women of Virginia Water that were killed in the Second World War? I am researching aircraft crashes in Shropshire and one of the pilots that was killed was F/Lt Roy Harold Phillips (138663), RAFVR, aged 23. He was the Son of Harold Alexander and Marie Ethel Phillips, of Virginia Water, Surrey; husband of Marjorie Eileen Phillips. I am wondering if anyone can help with any further information on this pilot? Perhaps somebody has researched war time casualties? I would be very grateful for any help. Many thanks, Tom

Looking for any Goddard''s in Byfleet Hi there i live in The highland of Scotland and am researching my family tree and i have traced them back to Byfleet. During the 1830''s my great great great granda was born in Surrey called Charles Goddard he married and elisabeth they then had 9 children one of which is my great great granda Georgw Goddard who then married a Martha Ann Carter they then had 2 children called Frances and Ernest Ernest then moved up to Scotland if there is anyone that knows these people please get in contact. I would like to find the birth certificate of my mother and grandfather. My mother was born in Johanesburg in 1911 ( Ithink) and her father was killed in a mining accident near Johanesburg in about 1915 when my mother was 4 or 5. my mother was called Helena Hope Isabel Murphy. Her mothet was a Collins, and her father was a Doctor name of Murphy. Many many thanks for anyone who can help. e. g. can I write to a Registar in Johanesburg, and so on.

Hello, I am currently researching the life of Frederick John Perry, a former resident of Sunninghill who died there on 25th January 1971. Mr. Perry was a survivor of the Lusitania sinking of 1915. I wonder if someone would be kind enough to provide an email address for St. Michael's church in order that I might locate his final resting place. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
